Captured Chaos: Camp Punksylvania on Wax

Some moments aren’t supposed to last. That’s part of the appeal.

A perfect punk set—too loud, slightly off, sweat dripping from the ceiling—exists for about 30 minutes and then it’s gone. No rewind, no cleanup, no neat little bow. Just ringing ears, bruised shoulders, and a vague sense that something important just happened.

With Comp Punksylvania Vol. 5: LIVE from Camp Punksylvania, Riot Squad Media and DCxPC Live try (and mostly succeed) in bottling that feeling—this time pressed onto a limited run of Neon Bitch Pink vinyl that feels appropriately unhinged.

Pulled straight from the Riot Stage at Camp Punksylvania, the comp features live sets from JERPucker Up!Hell Beach, and a stacked lineup of bands that understand punk isn’t meant to be polished.

And thankfully, this record doesn’t try.

It’s loud. It’s imperfect. You can feel the crowd pushing back against the stage. The kind of recording where things almost fall apart—but don’t. Or do, and that’s better.

That’s kind of the whole deal.

Now five volumes deep, this series has quietly become something worth paying attention to—not because it’s pristine, but because it isn’t.

There’s no attempt to clean this up for mass consumption. No sanding down the edges. Just a snapshot of what happens when a bunch of punks, hardcore kids, and ska weirdos converge in a Pennsylvania campground and decide to go all in for a weekend.

As Laura from Riot Squad Media puts it:

“those moments where a band and a crowd collide and something beautiful happens.”

This is that collision. Pressed to vinyl.

The record won’t recreate the weekend—but it’ll get you close enough to remember why you care.

And if that’s not enough, Camp Punksylvania 2026 is already lined up with Body CountPUP, and Face to Face—which feels like a pretty solid excuse to not miss it twice.
