Second wave of Capital Radio Day 2026 bands announced

And we are live! Big thank you to our friends over at Grit City Punk for announcing both waves of Capital Radio Day bands. If you haven’t had a chance to stream either podcast, we highly recommend checking them out at this link.

So, let’s talk about that second wave of bands!

Stella Jay & the Monkeys in Love
Stella Jay & the Monkeys in Love

Stella Jay & the Monkeys in Love – Olympia’s Stella Jay & the Monkeys in Love bridge the gap between folk punk, indie rock, and garage rock with finesse and style. Their songs are big on community, support systems, and growth- where we’ve been, where we are, and where we could be together, but in a way that never comes off disingenuous. They are community minded and driven to push us all to be the best we can…if we can’t live up to those standards, well they probably have a switchblade hidden in their bodice.

Picket Line – Picket Line may reside in Seattle but they rep the power of New York Hardcore with the earnestness of DC Hardcore. Luckily, they omit the machismo of the former, in exchange for the cultural awareness of the latter. They’ll swing fists in the pit with the best of em, and will absolutely pick you up if you fall. Tie your two step shoes on tight, and bring a bag of ice…as well as an ICE whistle. This one may get nasty.

Stumblebum – Stumblebum sounds like if a 19 year-old kid had been shoulder-tapping for hours in front of an AM/PM before playing a house show in a mobile home decided to cover their leather jacket in lighter fluid and light it on fire during their band’s set. Explosive. Portland’s Stumblebum are explosive. They took that entire early aughts Gearhead catalog and injected in into their veins along with a can of Bardahl. Gibson guitars, Marshall Stacks, and combs in their back pockets. This is how heavy, punk influenced rock n roll should feel. (the mobile home is still standing, btw) (also, if this sounds very specific, it’s because it’s something I did…but my band sucked. Stumblebum does not.)

Slowdivision
Slowdivision

Slowdivision – Slowdivision take post-punk to a new level. Elements of hip-hop, post-hardcore, shoegaze, and garage rock intermingle and create a pensive gumbo. That isn’t to say they’re going to bum you out, quite the contrary, Slowdivision are exciting, vibrant, and unique. You can enjoy them leaning against the wall with your eyes closed, but I highly suggest dancing along with everyone else. This room will have walls that are sweating. Also….I don’t know what this means, but while I was listening to their album on YouTube, Better off Dead immediately started playing after. So…what does that tell you?

Los Mal Hablados – oh fuck me…LOS MAL HABLADOS??? This is the band you have in your headphones while shoving a knife into the ICE vans. This is the band that’s blasting on your car stereo while you’re racing to cut off the MAGA convoy. This is the band that was playing on stage when you lost your shoes in the pit. Multiple experiences can be true at the same time and Portland’s Los Mal Hablados proves it. Fans of Voodoo Glow Skulls, Mephiskapheles, and Slayer will all be pissed as hell if they miss this set.

Sneer
Sneer

Sneer – I was at a show at Real Art Tacoma that Sneer was playing. Some old white dude showed up in a Trump shirt. Surprisingly no one said anything, but everyone felt uneasy. Why did they feel uneasy? Because punk shows are the safe space. It’s where the outcasts and cast offs go to feel like they belong…and nothing breaks the feeling of a safe space like MAGA. Oh wait…did I say no one said anything? Because Sneer absolutely spent half of their set making sure that guy felt like the most uncomfortable person on the planet. And you know what? He left. Fuck him. Fuck yeah, Sneer. Oh what does Sneer sound like? Sneer sounds like a goddam punk band. Get into it.

Riot Orgy – Do you like horror movies? Do you like circus sideshows? Do you like hardcore? Dear god, you’re going to love Riot Orgy.

the Scoffs
the Scoffs

The Scoffs – The Scoffs are legends. The Scoffs are unstoppable. They combine 70’s glam, with streetpunk, Oi!, and pop punk to create swagger and excitement. They’ve been doing this for awhile and they’ve not lost steps, in fact, they keep getting better. We haven’t asked many bands to play back to back years, but the Scoffs are back and we are thrilled to have them.

Muscle Cats – There are few bands playing Capital Radio Day this year that are as aptly named as Muscle Cats. They are dirty, grimey, garage rock that absolutely sounds like three alley cats fighting over a tuna can. Muscle Cats are the strongest that will absolutely survive. Fans of the Dumpies, Marked Men, and the Spits, will love this band.

Twin Victims
Twin Victims

Twin Victims – what is the sound of a knife being pulled out slowly? 2 out of 3 victims can’t tell you. But the third…well, sorry, bud. You’re the third…and Twin Victims are the dbeat/crustcore band that are going to make you vividly understand what that sound coming from your midsection is.

The Proffits – As soon as he hears them, the Proffits are going to be John Waters’ favorite band. They are kitschy, and surfy, and spine-tingly, and it’s very appropriate to watch them while wearing anaglyph 3D glasses. Where the Cramps left off, the Proffits continue. This is the soundtrack to the beast with a thousand backs’ crawl to the icebox for a cold beer. You’ll love them.

So there it is! Pick up your tickets right now, because Capital Radio Day 2026 is going to be everything you need, and a little bit that you don’t.

Soundtrack your experience with sounds From the Underground
